Traa-la-laaa! The trees are in blossom, the sun has been out and there may even be grounds for discarding your winter coat in the foreseeable future.
Spring must be here which means that it’s almost certainly time for a mini-hol.
Get out into the countryside, grab some fresh air and enjoy an overnight break with today’s Big Deal at Knock Castle in Crieff.
Sitting pretty above the old drovers’ town of Crieff, Knock Castle Hotel and Spa is only a short drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh but its tranquil grounds mean that it seems worlds away from the stress of the Central Belt.
Nestling in the idyllic hills of the Strathearn Valley, the hotel was formerly the 19th century baronial home of Scottish shipping magnate Lady MacBrayne.
Today’s Big Deal is for an overnight stay, Sunday to Thursday, in either a Lomond Room within the hotel or, in one of the large rooms in the Castle Lodge, which sits at the foot of the hotel’s gardens.
Designed in the same luxurious style as the main building, the Lodge’s vast rooms are ideal for a couple looking to get away from it all and the building also features lounge, dining room and a lift to all floors.
Included in the deal is a relaxing back, neck and shoulders massage for each guest. The Big Deal also gives you full use of the gym and pool complex which offers a wide range of facilities including sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and spa bath. The heated indoor pool has relaxing views onto the Hotel’s wooded gardens.
A cooked breakfast is included in the deal and, if you also decide to take other meals at the hotel, then you can enjoy the superb views from the new rooftop restaurant. Freshly cooked, local produce takes pride of place on the menu.
If you both order a three course table d’hote meal then the hotel will give you a complementary bottle of wine to enjoy with your food.
Great TripAdvisor reviews
Knock Castle Hotel and Spa has been wowing reviewers on TripAdvisor. This is what a recent guest had to say:
‘Practically Perfect in Every Way! My husband and I spent only one night at Knock Castle and we will be back. The food was absolutely scrumptious and we could hear all the other diners raving about their meals too. Chef even came round to check we were all happy. Next time we plan to starve ourselves so we can try the 5/6 course taster menu.
‘Our bedroom was in their annex and was very spacious and nicely decorated if a tiny bit dated. You walk through a lighted path to the main building which was a lovely way to start and end the evening. The service was faultless and they even made us homemade scones…’
