Carbon capture, waste recycling and taking your own bag to the supermarket can all help the environment.
Eco-friendly? Definitely. Romantic? Less so.
Earth Day dining
Do your bit for the environment by celebrating Earth Hour and enjoying a romantic Dine in the Dark experience at Radisson Blu on Saturday 28th March.
As part of Earth Hour, millions of people all over the world will switch off the lights and live an hour in darkness.
Radisson Blu are marking the event with this special sensory dinner which begins at 7pm on Saturday 28th March.
This Big Deal offer is for one person to enjoy the hotel’s special five course, Dine in the Dark tasting dinner with matched drinks.
Heighten the senses
Promising to be a fun, unorthodox experience, the experience will start with a chilled, rustic Bellini and canapés before guests are led to what looks like a closed restaurant.
A single tea light on the table will be your only light for the experience.
A brief introduction occurs, an even briefer drinks order is taken, before the door closes shut, and you are now part of Dining in the Dark.
With your vision limited, your senses of touch, taste and smell will be heightened – all the better to experience the chefs’ five course tasting menu with matched drinks for each course.
The event will finish with a flourish – a cocktail masterclass.
As well as celebrating the good work of Earth Day, this Big Deal on the Radisson’s Dining in the Dark experience will be a thrill for adventurous diners.
It would also make for a very romantic meal. Minimal lighting, fantastic drinks and delicious food that cries out to be spoon fed to your partner – this is sensory seduction at its most sophisticated.
