Alla Locanta is a welcome fusion of what was previously two city centre restaurants (a Turkish and an Italian) in the same premises: Alla Turca and Alla Italia.

Now diners can enjoy tucking into Mediterranean and mezze cuisine in one combined, family-run dining spot of smart white banquette seating and rustic exposed brickwork.

Option one on this Big Deal is for a three course meal for two with a Prosecco cocktail each, available Sunday to Thursday (excluding Mondays).

Option 2 is for all of the above for Friday and Saturday dining.

Sample the market menu

Menus can shift with the seasons, but here is a taster of what diners can expect from Alla Locanta’s market menu:

Starters might include the minestrone soup with Italian bread, the mozzarella & mushroom arancini, and the bruschetta with Parma ham and tomato.

Mains could feature the classic lasagne, the spaghetti & meatballs and the pizza Palermo with daily roast vegetables.

Or, for a supplement, guests could opt for a BBQ item such as the sword fish or signature 7oz fillet steak.

Desserts are to be selected from the restaurant’s dessert menu, with options such as the signature chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream, sultac (oven-baked Turkish rice pudding), and the baklava and ice cream usually available.

Guests can upgrade to the Locanta set menu for an extra £2.95 per person, payable directly to restaurant.

Combine with a theatre trip

Alla Locanta is on Pitt Street, close to the King’s Theatre, Theatre Royal and plenty of gig venues, making it an ideal pre-show dining option.

The main city centre shops are nearby as well, so this would be a great place to stop-off for lunch after a retail splurge.

There are numerous taxi stands on Sauchiehall Street, plus Queen Street and Central stations are both under a fifteen minute walk away.

Pay parking is close by at Charing Cross car park.
