In the olden days, people believed that love potions could spark romance or keep it healthy.
Well, cancel the newts, bats and cauldrons because today’s Big Deal on an overnight stay in an enchanting Scottish castle is a much more effective way to rustle up some magical romance.
Culcreuch Castle Hotel is one of Scotland’s oldest hotels with the main hotel building dating from the 14th century.
Located near Stirling in Central Scotland, it overlooks its own private loch and is set in the beautiful, 1600 acre Culcreuch Estate.
Today, Culcreuch Castle Hotel retains all the romance and charm that its heritage entitles it to, yet it has been sensitively upgraded and is professionally managed to offer an excellent standard of comfort and luxury accommodation.
This brilliant offer is for two people to have an overnight break in a standard room at Culcreuch Castle Hotel with a hearty Scottish breakfast in the morning.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, satellite TV and Wi-Fi.
In the evening, each guest can enjoy dinner up to the value of £32 in either the Dungeon Diner of the fine dining Castle Restaurant.
Depending on availability, guests may be able to upgrade to a Deluxe room with four poster bed for a supplement of £20 per room per night; arrange with and pay directly to hotel.
Breakfast is served in the Laird’s Hall, part of the original castle. For dinner, guests can choose to dine in the informal Dungeon Diner with dishes such as the popular house burger; steak ‘n’ ale pie and beer battered haddock.
If the weather is fine, guests can even eat outside.
Dinners in the wood panelled Castle Restaurant are candlelit. Typical dishes might be the grilled fillet of local beef or the cod served in a chickpea, chorizo, tomato, saffron and mussel broth.
Locally sourced ingredients take pride of place on the menus in both restaurants.
Each guest has a £32 spend on dinner as part of the offer.

Culcreuch Castle has been a home for 700 years. This is what one of the more recent guests thought of her family’s stay at Culcreuch Castle Hotel:
‘Beautiful spot to relax. We stayed here for one night recently during a 2 week family trip… Wish we had stayed longer! We stayed in a Courtyard room, because we wanted a room for a family of 4. The room was cozy, but comfortable. The kids (11 & 14) loved getting to roam about the grounds, watching the wild rabbits and birds. We loved the on-site pub and relaxed atmosphere. We all had dinner in the Dungeon Bar, and it was a highlight of our trip. All 4 of us cleaned our plates… and that never happens! The staff and locals were friendly and welcoming… Breakfast was also delicious, and served in the beautiful formal dining room. Would love to plan a return visit!’
