Madonna’s hit song La Isla Bonita, meaning ‘the beautiful island’, was inspired by a visit to the Isle of Bute.
A previous visit to a caravan park in Cumbernauld led to the song Rescue Me.
Make like Madonna and get into the groove with today’s Big Deal on a two night break at Munro’s, a comfortable, boutique B&B that sits on a hill near the village of Ardbeg on Bute.
A friendly, family-run home with stunning views across Rothesay Bay, the business is named after James Munro, the owner’s grandfather and a former Rector of Rothesay Academy.
Munro’s has an acre of gardens, if you fancy a stroll. On fine mornings, you can have your breakfast on the terrace and you may even spot a fish in the lily-pond.
All of Munro’s six, stylishly decorated rooms are ensuite – one with a whirlpool bath – and they also feature flat screen TV’s, wireless broadband access, tea and coffee making facilities, underfloor heating in the bathrooms.
Munro’s has wowed lots of previous guests. This is what Lojoaboyne had to say on TripAdvisor after a visit in September:
‘Lovely B&B with great views. We got this on a 5pm offer – 2 nights. Had great big room at the front of the house with fantastic views over the bay, room comfortable, freshly and well decorated and furnished. Lovely breakfasts in the conservatory with more great views. Very nice relaxed B&B with welcoming owners. Would recommend.’
