Despite the name, there is no shipping involved at The Boat Hotel in the Boat of Garten near Aviemore.
That said, take up today’s Big Deal and you can sail away from everyday worries and relax on a two day mini-break in one of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes.
With Christmas on the horizon and vouchers valid until the end of March, this would also make rather a special gift for someone to find in their stocking.
Two nights in classic room
A hawk’s eye view of The Boat Hotel would show a cosy four star hotel nestling deep in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
A family-run hotel, The Boat blends historic Highland charm with the mod cons you would expect of a 21st century hotel such as digital TVs, complimentary WiFi, room service and hot drinks trays in the ensuite rooms.
This Big Deal is for two people to enjoy a two consecutive night stay in a comfortable classic double or twin room at The Boat Hotel with a full Scottish breakfast each morning. When you stay is up to you…
For midweek stays (Sun-Thurs) select option 1.
If you would like to arrive for your stay on a Friday or Saturday then simply purchase option 2.
Option 3, meanwhile, is valid 7 days per week and includes dinner on the 1st night of your stay.
Two AA Rosettes
The breakfasts at The Boat Hotel are pretty special. As an alternative to the full Scottish breakfast, you can order anything from delicate smoked Scottish haddock to meltingly beautiful eggs Florentine. Breakfast also offers a range of cold dishes and freshly baked pastries from the larder.
Breakfasts are included in the offer. Should you choose to take other meals in The Osprey Bistro then you are in for a treat. The kitchen has been awarded two AA Rosettes for their imaginative take on the best Scottish produce.
Guests choosing option 3 will enjoy dinner on the 1st evening of their stay however, for all other guests, meals can be paid for as taken.
The menus change regularly but typical starters might be the haggis spring roll served with Bruadar crème fraiche while popular main courses include choices like the braised daube of Speyside venison served with parsnip mash and juniper jus.
As well as the a la carte menu, the hotel runs daily specials; early bird offers and themed nights such as Currylicious Thursday.
The Osprey Bar offers a wide range of bar meals and it also has a very tempting collection of malt whisky – perfect for relaxing with in front of the open fire.
Ideally placed for walking, climbing, golf, visiting distilleries, bird watching or fishing, The Boat Hotel is a fantastic venue from which to enjoy the great outdoors. Over the next few months, weather permitting, it could also be the ideal location from which to visit Scotland’s ski resorts.
The Boat Hotel has earned plenty of positive reviews from happy guests. This is what one had to say recently on TripAdvisor:
‘Great food, great service, good attentive staff. My husband and I stayed here on the 19th/20th October on a DBB Deal given to us as a gift from family. I really cannot fault this hotel at all in any way what so ever. The food was absolutely 1st class from start to finish. The bistro/bar restaurant was so cosy and very nice to eat in and the real log fire just made it that bit more special. The only wee gripe I have about this hotel is that the drink is a wee bit on the expensive side. This hotel is somewhere to go if it is a peaceful, restful, very quiet break one is after. The surrounding scenery is just beautiful and I would strongly advise the trip on the steam train to Aviemore… Would definitely recommend this hotel to nature lovers as a very good base hotel, with very good food, good hospitality. 10/10.’
