Liberty, equality and a cup of tea are the cornerstones of civilisation.
Strike a blow for civility with this Big Deal on a classic afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco in the lounge at the four star Millennium Hotel on George Square.
Tea & chat
Available 7 days per week, and for a minimum of two people per booking, the deal is for one person to enjoy a classic afternoon tea in the sophisticated setting of the Millennium Lounge.
Handy for the transport links of Queen Street Station, the Millennium Lounge is a tranquil spot for a treat and a catch-up with friends.
The conservatory area at the front of the lounge is ideal for a little people-watching – George Square is never dull.
Also included in the deal is a glass of Prosecco because there’s nothing quite like a little fizz to loosen tongues and make chatting with friends that little bit more enjoyable.
Your classic afternoon tea comprises a selection of hand-cut sandwiches plus freshly baked cakes and scones to share as well as tea or coffee.
The range will vary but typical sandwich fillings include smoked salmon and crème fraiche; cheddar cheese and tomato; egg mayonnaise and honey roast ham with tomato and coleslaw.
The freshly baked cakes are just as varied and might include cupcakes, brownies, profiteroles, strawberry tarts and, of course scones.
Shopping trip pick-me-up
Located on George Square, The Millennium Lounge is ideally placed for a mid-shopping trip break but it would also make a welcome gift.
Alternatively, treat yourself and a friend to a fun afternoon of nibbles and chat. Afternoon tea is the perfect fuel for putting the world to rights.
This recent 5pm customer took her family to the Millennium Lounge for a Mother’s Day treat and, according to the review left on the Millennium Lounge’s 5pm entry, they really enjoyed themselves:
‘I took my mum, dad and sister for my mum’s Mothers Day treat. The setting is perfect – the conservatory on the front of the hotel – so we sat people-spotting all afternoon. We opted for the Traditional High Tea with as much tea/coffee as you wanted plus the sandwiches, cakes and scones. My only gripe is that they don’t have de-caff tea only coffee. I would have preferred tea with my sandwiches and cakes but coffee it was! The sandwiches were nice and there was a good selection and plenty for the four of us. The cakes were delicious, as were the warm scones. There was tons of food and so we didn’t go hungry! The staff were great, my sister was late and they were completely accommodating. Thankfully they didn’t kick us out after the 90 minute turn around and they were very attentive. I would definitely recommend it for going with family or friends. We all had a fabulous afternoon :)’ Rating 4.8/5
