If the latest series of the Great British Bake Off has fired up your passion for pan loaf or made you sigh for sourdough then today’s Big Deal is the best thing since sliced bread.
Bread & breakfast
The baking hot offer is for two people to enjoy a one or two night stay with full Scottish breakfast at Munro’s boutique B&B on the beautiful Isle of Bute.
Included in the offer is a one day bread making course at the Bute Bread School which operates from Munro’s B&B.
Taking place on Saturdays and Wednesdays, the bread course runs from 11am until 4pm and includes a light lunch, tea and coffee. You will learn how to make a wholemeal or white loaf, italian focaccia breads, soda bread and pizza bases plus apprentice bakers can take home any bread made.
Also included are the printed bread recipes to take home and master.
The offer includes one place on the course – if partners wish to get floury then £35 (normal price £85) can be paid to reserve an additional place on the Bute Bread School course.
Munro’s is a comfortable, boutique B&B that sits on a hill near the village of Ardbeg on Bute.
A friendly, family-run home with stunning views across Rothesay Bay, Munro’s has an acre of beautiful gardens. On fine mornings, you can have your breakfast on the terrace and you may even spot a fish in the lily-pond.
All of Munro’s six, stylishly decorated rooms are ensuite – one with a whirlpool bath – and they also feature flat screen TV’s, wireless broadband access, tea and coffee making facilities, underfloor heating in the bathrooms and luxury shower gel and hand soap.
The larger sea view rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. Twin and double rooms are available.
Munro’s has wowed lots of previous guests, many of whom have left glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. This is what one had to say after a visit in September:
‘Top marks. We recently stayed at Munro’s B&B in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Everything was excellent. The room was great with wonderful views to the mainland. They made us so welcome going out of their way to help. Breakfast was really good and the homemade bread was wonderful. Well done.’
