It’s an optimistic man who would back the Scottish rugby team at the moment but it’s not all doom and gloom at Murrayfield.
The stunning Murrayfield House on Corstorphine Road has just relaunched after a complete refurbishment and, were it a rugby team, it would be a shoe-in for the Grand Slam.
Edwardian boutique hotel
An Edwardian townhouse with nine individually styled bedrooms, Murrayfield House is a beautiful boutique hotel.
A home from home, it is packed with both surprising treats and technological wizardry.
For instance, the TV screens at Murrayfield House are cunningly hidden in the room’s mirrors while each room also boasts a nook filled with a little whisky and a macaroon.
This offer is for a overnight stay in a double room at Murrayfield House for two people. You will enjoy a cooked Scottish breakfast in the morning and, to help you settle in, there will be a chilled bottle of Prosecco in your room when you check-in.

Murrayfield House has not been open long but it’s already attracting rave reviews on TripAdvisor. We’ve edited this one slightly for length but not for meaning:
‘Newly refurbished Murrayfield House. Wow! What a difference. I had seen the house before when it was called the Lodge and it was very dated and I read it was being re-done but I never expected how totally fabulous it was going to be. I stayed in room 1 and it is very spacious. Couches, chairs, desk, tables and still room to move around. TV is behind the mirror which is very cool, speakers everywhere even in bathroom.
‘Mini bar and snacks which are priced so you don’t break the bank! I even ordered room service which I never do. I had arrived late and didn’t have dinner so ordered some toasted cheese sandwich and fries, it arrived hot! The night porter was very friendly and professional, called to let me know he was coming and called back to see if I needed anything else. Great service!
‘One thing, the pillows are hard but it was okay. I will always stay at the Murrayfield House from now on. I was talking to the staff about the refurbishment and was told you can book the whole House. It would be great for a wedding party or special occasion…
‘The staff are really friendly and helpful. Reception staff was first class and the bar staff really helpful, friendly and fast service. The food at the Murrayfield is excellent too. We had the steak and prawns and the steak and ale pie, best I’ve ever had! All in all, an excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff and beautiful new rooms.’
