The Big Deal is down with demi-glace and hip to dehydrated hyssop.
However, there are times when only a really great sarnie will really hit the sweet spot.
Take up today’s Big Deal with The Baby Grand at Charing Cross and tuck into a super sarnie.
The offer is for two people to each have an amazing sandwich at The Baby Grand.
To be fair, ‘sandwich’ doesn’t really do these babies justice. All served with skinny fries, these are superlative sarnies which show the sandwich maker’s art in a whole new light.
Available seven days for lunch or dinner, these sandwiches could turn any lunch into a special occasion or they could make a dinner sparkle.
Check them out:
The Louisiana Chicken Stack – chicken tenders marinated in Louisiana hot sauce topped with roast red peppers, onion and smoked mozzarella on focaccia. Also the name of the best blues song yet to be written.
The French Bavette – rare bavette steak marinated in honey, mustard and garlic with gem lettuce and tomato. Named after a 1920s French dancer.
The Florentine – soft boiled egg, spinach and hollandaise on toasted brioche. Casanova’s favourite snack in between trysts.
Monte Cristo – sliced roast chicken, grilled ham with melted cheese served on French toast. A more refined version of the French croque monsieur.
The Big Salt & Sour – salted beef rolled in pepper and herbs with house vegetables, American mustard on artisan sourdough. More American than apple pie.
Charing Cross institution
For over a quarter of a century, The Baby Grand has been pulling in the customers at Charing Cross.
From early morning coffees to late night cocktails, often accompanied by some smooth tunes on the Baby Grand piano, the bar, restaurant and supper club has something to offer everyone.
It’s a cosmopolitan hang-out and, fingers crossed, if the sun is shining then you might be able to make like our Continental cousins and eat al fresco.
With over 25 years under its belt, The Baby Grand has built a large following of loyal customers but is also still attracting new fans. This is what a recent visitor had to say on the 5pm restaurant site:
‘Excellent. Great find next to Kings Theatre. Good food at good prices and with live piano music. I would recommend.’ Rating 5/5
If cheese and coleslaw is about as tricked out as your sandwiches get then take up today’s Big Deal with The Baby Grand and enter a whole new world of sarnie wonder.
