The Americans have just landed a space probe on Mars. That’s a journey of over half a billion kilometres to a destination which we’re pretty sure won’t serve a decent cup of tea and definitely won’t do a decent cocktail.
You won’t need to travel anything like that distance to enjoy out of this world desserts; amazing cocktails and fantastic tea with today’s deal at Cup Tea Lounge on Renfield Street.
Designed to be a late night dessert restaurant, Cup Tea Lounge is the recently launched sister to the well established and much loved Cup Tea Room on Byres Road.
Decked out with bling chandeliers and original Victorian tiling, it has a spectacular B-listed interior which is matched only by its glam food and drink menu.
This tasty offer is for a cocktail, gourmet dessert and pot of specialist tea or a coffee in the evening at Cup Tea Lounge.
It’s a tough call but we’ll start by telling you about the inventive dessert list at Cup Tea Lounge.
You could go for a re-worked classic like the Caramel Shortcake made with puff candy and peanut butter ice cream or strap in for something more out there like the Rhubarb and Vanilla ‘Sushi’ made with chilled vanilla rice pudding, rhubarb puree, wasabi caviar and lime sorbet.
You can whet your appetite by browsing the full list of desserts and cocktails available on the Big Deal menu.
As you might be beginning to imagine, the cocktails are no less eye-catching. From watermelon Martinis and tea or coffee-based drinks to classic Prosecco cocktails like Bellinis, the cocktail list is staggeringly good. We recommend the chocolate based selection. Fancy a Chestnut and Chocolate Whip topped with a nutmeg and chocolate flake?
Cup Tea Room and Cup Tea Lounge are purveyors of some of the finest hand blended teas in the country. Hand Blended to Cup’s own recipe.
From Byres Bold Brew to Cranachan green tea via Darjeeling, they have dozens to choose from and their Costa Rica coffee is mighty fine as well. The deal includes a small pot of tea or a coffee of your choice.
Cup Tea Lounge has not been open for very long. However, their talented pastry chefs and mixologists have already been winning fans on 5pm. This is what one recent visitor had to say:
‘Best afternoon tea I’ve ever had! As a fan of afternoon tea, I took my friend as a birthday treat! The service was amazing, they were very knowledgeable, and I had the best raspberry scones I’ve ever had. Cute cakes and very vintage interior as well! Will definitely return.’ Rating 5/5
