Kiss goodbye to another al desko meal and make lunch great again with today’s Big Deal on a two course lunch from the bright and cheery Tron Bar & Kitchen in the Tron Theatre.

Linked to the Tron Theatre, the bar here is a colourful spot for a casual lunch in a laidback setting.

Reclaimed timber tables and vintage lights furnish the three separate dining areas in the bar and kitchen.

If the sun is out, there is also the option to dine al fresco. Much better than al desko.

Seven days a week

Available noon to 4pm, seven days a week, the offer is for one person to have the soup of the day – there is always a veggie option available – followed by any main course from the lunch menu plus a draught soft drink.

Wide choice

The lunch menu offers loads of choice. There are some inventive sandwiches and wraps as well as a range of tacos with fillings such as pulled pork, Moroccan lamb or chickpea, coconut and roast pepper.

Salads such as the crispy feta, watermelon and basil are ideal for summer while options like the Ayrshire chicken penne with roast pepper and a tomato and basil cream will suit those days when the weather is more authentically Glaswegian.

We always find that fish ‘n’ chips will see us through the afternoon but we also find it hard to say no to a burger.

At The Tron Bar and Kitchen, they offer four different burgers all served with house fries and dill pickle.

We would go for the burger made with Cairnhill farm beef and topped with Monterey jack cheese, red onion, pulled pork and mustard sauce.

If you must be an eager beaver, it would be ideal for a working lunch. Something we disapprove of heartily.

Of course, the kitchen is used to cooking for lots of people who want to have a bite before going in to see a show.

If you are in a hurry to get back to the office, tell your waiting staff and they will let the chefs know.

Or phone in to work, say you’ve got an emergency dentist visit and bunk off for the rest of the day…
