It’s the perfect way to learn how to recreate your favourite Indian dishes in your own kitchen.
Suitable for all
Even if you have never sliced a chilli before, these one day classes will give you all the knowledge you need to make a feast of Indian food.
The classes are suitable for all levels of cooking skill. As the Cookery School puts it. ‘Cooking is simple. It only looks difficult on television. We teach simple techniques that all chefs use. You can come on any of our courses and we guarantee you will be able to cook the dishes.’
Easily accessible by car or public transport, The Cookery School is based in the Peckhams Building on Glassford Street.
Experts in running cookery classes, they will provide all the equipment and ingredients that guests need.
The classes will run 11am-7pm on selected Sundays throughout October and November.
Hands on learning
After an initial spice workshop to introduce students to the building blocks of Indian cookery, the tutor will demonstrate how to make kulcha bread, spiced onions, cardamom rice and four different curries: chicken Madras, chicken vindaloo, chicken korma and lamb rogan josh.
The chef will demonstrate each dish and then guests will cook it at their own cooking station. The chef is always on hand to assist.
Eat what you cook
You will eat what you cook and then do the next dish. At the end of the day, the chef will answer any further questions and all guests will go away with recipe sheets to help them reproduce the spicy magic in their own homes.
Happy curry lovers
The Cookery School has already set many dopiaza devotees on the path to curry joy. This is what a few former students of the Indian cookery day had to say:
‘The knowledge I’ve acquired is second to none.’
‘Absolutely superb, everything was fully explained.’
‘Very relaxed, excellent value.’
