One of the Creggans Inn’s previous owners was a writer and diplomat who also served in the SAS during the Second World War.
Many think that he was the inspiration for James Bond.
Very dashing indeed but today’s Big Deal with the Creggans Inn Hotel is designed to leave you feeling chilled rather than shaken or, indeed, stirred.
Shores of Loch Fyne
Just over an hour’s drive from Glasgow, Creggans Inn Hotel is an award-winning, family-run business that sits on the shore of Loch Fyne with views to Inverary.
The guest lounges also boast absorbing views or you could just cast a careful eye over the malt whisky in the hotel’s bar – a welcoming space which is kept cosy with a log fire on cold nights.
Each of the inn’s fourteen bedrooms has been individually decorated and has its own distinct character. They are all en-suite and feature little luxuries such as the Sea Kelp toiletries. WiFi is standard.
Today’s relaxing Big Deal is for two people to relax with an overnight stay in a standard double or twin loch view room.
A choice of full Scottish or continental breakfast is included in the offer.
A supplement of £20 per room per night, payable direct to the hotel, is charged for Friday and Saturday night stays
Should you choose to dine in the hotel, Creggans Inn has two dining options: MacPhunn’s Bar & Restaurant where you can enjoy an extensive bistro style menu or the Loch Fyne Dining Room which has two AA Rosettes.
Local, seasonal produce is at the heart of the menu in both MacPhunn’s and the Loch Fyne Restaurant.
In the restaurant, this might mean hand-dived Loch Fyne scallops; roast loin of Scotch lamb or halibut. In MacPhunn’s, the bar menu features dishes such as Cullen skink; West Coast salmon fillets and a steak and ale pie made with locally brewed beer.
Spring is very much in the air and Creggans Inn Hotel is ideally positioned to make the most of the warmer weather.
An ideal base for exploring Argyll and central Scotland, the area surrounding Creggans Inn Hotel boasts castles, gardens, wildlife, golf, quad biking and fishing.
Many a TripAdvisor reviewer has had a great stay. This is what one recent guest had to say after booking in with a Big Deal voucher:
‘Booked an overnight stay through 5pm.com. A warm welcome and shown to our room which overlooked Loch Fyne. Large bathroom, spotlessly clean. Comfortable bedroom, although in future we would request a room with king size bed as the double one was just a little too neat for a man of over 6 feet. We chose the fine dining menu and were not disappointed. Spent the evening in conversation with a delightful, local couple who were celebrating a birthday, as were we. Both people were recognised at desert with a candle and good wishes from the staff. All members of staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. We would definitely come back to the Creggans Inn.’
