The American journalist Paul Harvey reckoned that ‘Golf is a game in which you yell “fore”, shoot six and write down five.’
Today’s Big Deal on eighteen holes at the Fairmont St Andrews resort adds up a lot more sweetly.
It’s simple. Option one is for one golfer to play eighteen holes on The Torrance Course. Option two is for eighteen holes on The Kittocks.
Unique coastal setting
Set on a 520 acre estate with a unique coastal setting overlooking the medieval skyline of St Andrews, Fairmont St Andrews hotel is a world class golfing resort.
Situated in the Home of Golf, the resort is proud to be recognised as one of the top golf resorts – voted eighteenth in The World’s Top Golf Resorts by a Conde Nast Traveler reader’s poll and ranked number 22 in The Worlds Best Golf Hotels by Golf Digest.
Fairmont St Andrews has also been awarded IAGTO European Golf Resort of the Year 2012 and Resort Hotel Of The Year at The Golf Tourism Scotland Awards – the third time in four years.
The Torrance Course
Available seven days a week, option one is for one person to play eighteen holes on The Torrance, a par 72 and 7230 yards links course.
Originally designed by Sam Torrance, it has been re-designed with eight new holes and classic Scottish revetted bunkers.
Rated 26th in Golf Weekly ratings of 2013, The Torrance was the Open Championship qualifying course for the 2010 Open Championship.
The Kittocks Course
Also available seven days a week, option two is for one person to play eighteen holes on the par 72 Kittocks course designed by Gene Sarazen.
Awarded the Golf Club & Course Experience of the Year 2013 by Golf Tourism Scotland, the 7192 yard Kittocks course hugs the dramatic Fife coastline and features some of the most beautiful holes in Scottish golf.
Golf carts are available for rental on The Kittocks Course.
The Torrance and Kittocks courses at St Andrews have made a lot of golfers very happy. This first review was left on TripAdvisor by a golfer who had just played The Torrance:
‘The course and the weather was truly stunning – one game to remember. Although I have played the Torrance on a number of occasions in the past this was the 1st time for a few years. Boy-o-boy, how the course has matured and now truly compliments the setting of the Fairmont St Andrews.’
Writing on Golf Boo earlier this year, one fan had this to say of The Kittocks:
‘Fantastic. I found the layout of this course to be excellent and I really enjoyed playing here. Course was in great nick and the holes were all really good, so much so that it’s hard for me to choose a favourite. The views and surroundings were great and the staff were great!’
If you would like to play a round that will live in the memory for a long time, then swing towards todays’ Big Deal on eighteen holes at Fairmont St Andrews.
This offer would also make a wonderful gift for the golfer in your life. Any birthdays on the horizon?
