First built in 1601, Strathblane’s Kirkhouse Inn has been used as everything from a stable to a schoolhouse.
Its owners reckon that over the years, the building has been the home of hidden fortunes, buried secrets and even scandals.
These days, guests can look forward to comfortable rooms, great food and a warm welcome.
If you want scandal then you will have to bring your own.
Noted for its food, friendly service and warm hospitality, the Kirkhouse Inn is just half an hour from Glasgow and Stirling and the perfect choice for visitors to central Scotland.
From whisky tours at the nearby Glengoyne distillery to the simple pleasures of exploring Loch Lomond or the Trossachs, The Kirkhouse Inn is a great place for a short break.
Available seven days a week, the offer is for two people to enjoy a one night stay in a double or twin ensuite room at the Kirkhouse Inn. To help make your stay as convenient as possible, there is free parking on site.
There is a £15 per room per night supplement for Friday and Saturday night stays.
Upgrades are also available at a cost of £30 per room.
As well as a full Scottish breakfast in the morning, guests will be provided with a £30 dinner spend per room from the a la carte menu in the hotel restaurant.
The menus change regularly but typical starters might be the Scottish mussels in a white wine garlic sauce or prawn Marie Rose with brown crusty bread.
Popular main courses include breast of chicken with Parma ham, cheese and BBQ sauce and of course, traditional fish and chips – beer battered haddock.
The £30 allocation does not include drinks.

The Kirkhouse Inn has plenty of fans on TripAdvisor. This is what a couple of recent guests had to say:
‘We love this place. My boyfriend and I have been here twice now and we just adore it. The room we stay in is lovely with a little sitting room, the location is brilliant for walking in the Campsies, nice decor, but most of all the food is EXQUISITE, we were just amazed, I hope they never let this chef go!! Definitely recommend it to everyone, you won’t be disappointed.’
‘What a welcome! Went in for a spur of the moment meal. Fantastic service from our waitress and great food to boot. Will be back soon as staff went that extra mile to accommodate us. Thanks for a lovely dining experience.’
