According to some historians, Strathblane may have been the site of a fierce battle between the Picts and the Britons in 750.
Take up today’s Big Deal on an overnight stay with Strathblane Country House Hotel and you can leave the claymore and war paint at home – the only conflict you are likely to encounter is deciding whether to visit the nearby Glengoyne Distillery, take a stroll around the hotel grounds or simply relax with a good book.
Built in 1874 as a family home, Strathblane Country House Hotel retains its traditional character while offering comfortable, elegant surroundings and a warm welcome.
The Big Deal is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay with a two course set dinner and full cooked breakfast in the morning. The deal is for a double room but there is the option to upgrade to a superior room for an extra £30.
Each of the individually styled, ensuite bedrooms has its own unique character and includes features such as free WiFi, Freeview channels and hot drinks facilities.
From the fresh fish, which is delivered daily, to the Aberdeen Angus beef, the Country Club Restaurant in the hotel uses only the freshest Scottish produce.
As well as a full cooked breakfast, the deal includes a delicious two set course dinner for each couple.
Guests also have the option to choose from the a la carte menu instead of the set menu.
In this case the hotel will deduct £35 per couple from your dinner bill.
Although only half an hour from Glasgow and Stirling, Strathblane Country House Hotel is surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery. The Campsie Fells, Dumgoyne and Ben Lomond, are all within easy striking distance.
While not part of the Big Deal, guests can book a falconry session at the bird of prey centre in the hotel grounds. Whether you want a hands-on session or simply to watch these magnificent birds swooping from the sky, Strathblane Country House Hotel can hook you up with a feathered friend.
This was a popular deal the last time that we ran it and those of you who bought it last time have been quick to say how much you enjoyed it. This is a recent TripAdvisor review:
‘This is the second time my partner and I have stayed here on 5pm overnight deal. The Owner, Margaret, who greeted us recognised us from our last stay. Both times we upgraded to a superior room. These were very spacious and comfortable with excellent views…
If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing break in the countryside with beautiful surroundings and stunning views, then this is the place to go.
Will return again soon. Thanks for a lovely stay.’
