Fun and fizz

Corinthian comedy nights certainly pack in the action. The evening begins at 7pm with a welcoming glass of fizz and some genial warm-up from engaging regular compere Paul McDougall.

Described as ‘warm, friendly and making waves in the school of hard knocks which is live comedy’, Paul will be introducing all the performers, including your opening act Gary Meikle.

Peppered with uncompromising anecdotes, Gary’s humour is playfully dark with sharp twists.

He first took to the stage in 2013 and has risen through the ranks faster than most. His notable rise, plus his interesting past, has led to features in national newspapers and TV appearances.

Chortle website praised his ‘ingenious story telling’ while STV reckoned that has was ‘following in the footsteps of (Kevin) Bridges’.

Up and coming acts Top Joe and Allan Lindsay will look after the evening’s middle slots. Top Joe was the Liverpool Echo Comedian of the Year last year while Allan has been described as a ‘rising star on the Scottish comedic frontier’.

Naturally funny storyteller

Your headliner is Susie McCabe. Susie is on a mission to achieve the body beautiful. Gone are the takeaways and cigarettes. Instead it’s all bandanas and bananas as she jogs along the path to health and fitness.

No less an authority than Kevin Bridges called Susie ‘A naturally funny storyteller and a genuine stand-up. Highly recommended’.

Put more succinctly, your funny bone is in safe hands with Susie and the rest of the bill are just as adept at finding the funny.

And don’t worry, there are intervals so you will be able to top up your drinks.

The seating is cabaret style – rather more sociable than sitting in rows.
