First built in 1601, Strathblane’s Kirkhouse Inn has been used as everything from a stable to a schoolhouse.
Its owners reckon that over the years, the building has been the home of hidden fortunes, buried secrets and even scandals.
These days, guests can look forward to comfortable rooms, great food and a warm welcome.
If you want scandal then you will have to bring your own.
Noted for its food, friendly service and warm hospitality, the Kirkhouse Inn is just half an hour from Glasgow and Stirling and the perfect choice for visitors to central Scotland.
From whisky tours at the nearby Glengoyne distillery to the simple pleasures of exploring Loch Lomond or the Trossachs, The Kirkhouse Inn is a great place for a short break.
Ensuite rooms
Available seven days a week, the offer is for two people to enjoy a one night stay in a double or twin ensuite room at the Kirkhouse Inn. To help make your stay as convenient as possible, there is free parking on site.
There is a £10 per room per night supplement for Friday and Saturday night stays.
Three course Dinner
As well as a full Scottish breakfast in the morning, guests will enjoy a splendid three course table d’hote dinner in the hotel restaurant.
The menus change regularly but typical starters might be the haggis fritters with grain mustard sauce or the prawn marie rose with brown crusty bread.
Popular main courses include the Ardunan farm pork and cider sausages with bacon mash and onion gravy plus, of course, the traditional fish and chips – beer battered haddock served on a crisp salad.
See & do Strathblane
As we mentioned, both Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Parks are within easy striking distance of the Kirkhouse Inn. Mountain biking, horse riding, golf and even falconry are also available within the local area.
