Tempus is part of the Grand Central Hotel, a Glaswegian landmark which has seen many a famous face over the years.
John Logie Baird transmitted the first long distance television pictures from the hotel in 1927 and everyone from Frank Sinatra to Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger have walked, or indeed trotted, through the doors at some point.
So, quit horsing about and tune in to today’s Big Deal for the sort of food that will have you singing Come Fly with Me.
The Grand Central reopened last year after a sumptuous £20 million refurbishment and Tempus certainly looks the part with its Murano Glass chandeliers and striking mural which references the hotel’s links to the adjacent Central station.
Executive Chef James Murphy is the boss in the kitchens and his menus focus on quality Scottish cuisine with a contemporary twist.
The Big Deal Select menu changes depending on what is in season but typical starters might include the Gently sauté wild mushrooms, soft herbs, garlic butter & toasted brioche or Smooth chicken & duck liver parfait wrapped in parma ham, caramelised orange chutney & sourdough toast
