With the new year now here, our thoughts have turned to leaving Christmas excesses behind and focusing on healthier habits.
Now we wouldn’t patronise you with all this new year new you dieting nonsense, but January is a good opportunity to discover new experiences and learn new things.

Yoga or pilates
There are two options for this Big Deal at The BodyMind Studio. Option one is a five class pass and option two is a ten class pass, all of which can be used at the following classes:
Bikram Yoga: Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises practised at temperatures of between 38 and 42 degrees carried out by a certified Bikram teacher. Everyone works to their own level and capabilities. The more classes you go to, the stronger and more flexible you will become.
Inferno Hot Pilates: IHP combines Pilates moves and principles with High Intensity Interval Training to create a fast-paced class that targets every muscle group in the body. Done in a room heated to around 35 degrees, the heat isn’t as intense as Bikram but is enough to help you work up a real sweat, ensuring maximum calorie burn to accompany the incredible muscle tone you earn from each move.
NYC 60: Bikram but not as you know it. NYC 60 is a fast, one hour Bikram flow class which includes core exercises you would not find in a traditional class. It is set to music and moves quickly, resulting in a fabulous one hour working that will leave you energised.
Note, to join the NYC 60 class, you must have previous experience of Bikram yoga, and will be turned away if this is not the case.
What you’ll need
Obviously, you should take suitable clothes for an exercise class. Also, don’t forget a change of clothes for afterwards (you will be sweating a lot), water, a mat and two bath towels (one for your mat and another if you’d like to shower at the studio). Information can be found here.
