If your young ‘uns fancy being a budding Bieber or Lady Gaga then today’s Big Deal at the award-winning Glasgow Music Studios is a fun way for them to live out their pop star fantasies.

Named the Recording Studio of the Year 2012 at the Scottish New Music Awards, the studio offers top quality rehearsal rooms on Osborne Street.

Today’s Big Deal comes in two options.

Option one is for up to eight kids to enjoy an hour long recording session in the studios.

CD to take away

The kids choose their favourite track to record and the studio will provide the backing music and lyrics.

A sound engineer will record the party’s vocal gymnastics, mix the results and present the finished song on a CD to take away.

Whether your kids want to sing like Miley Cyrus or The Wanted, Glasgow Music Studios will help them recreate the sound of their favourite pop stars.

Additional CDs are available for £3 each.

Glasgow, can you hear me?

Option two is for one child, aged 8-16 years-old, to enjoy a five hour session in the studio’s summer music activity academy.

Each day of the week, Monday to Friday, the studios will provide fun music making activities where kids can learn how to DJ, sing, record, rock out or form a band.

Workshops run 10am-3pm and all abilities are welcome.

Do you wanna be a rock DJ?

The following sessions are available:

DJ Academy – learn to DJ with our professional coach Stevie Sole. Includes beat matching techniques, choosing a set, mixing and all the skills required to be a professional DJ. Runs Mondays: 7th (8-11 years), 21st (12-16 years), 28th July (8-11 years) & 11th August (12-16 years).

Pop Hero Singing Academy – learn to sing and record your own track with our professional voice coach Lu Angel. Runs Tuesdays: 8th (8-11 years), 22nd (12-16 years), 29th July (8-11 years) & 12th August (12-16 years).

Rock Hero Guitar Sessions – learn how to rock out on the guitar with our very own fret shredder and professional instructor Adam Millar. Runs Wednesdays: 9th (12-16 years), 23rd (8-11 years), 30th July (8-11 years) & 13th August (12-16 years).

Rock Hero Drum Sessions – learn how to play rock drums with signed artist and session drummer Ben Martin. Runs Thursdays: 10th (8-11 years), 24th (12-16 years), 31st July (8-11 years) & 14th August (12-16 years).

Rock Hero Band Academy – join our band sessions where young people can make friends, form bands and get advice from the professionals in how to play as a rock band. Runs Fridays: 11th, 25th July & 1st & 15th August.
