The 2013 Open championship at Muirfield gets underway in less than ten days.
You may not be teeing off with Faldo, Els or Justin Rose this summer. Happily, however, you can immerse yourself in golf with today’s Big Deal at The Old Manor Hotel in Lundin Links.
Part of the beautiful Fife coastal area known as the East Neuk, Lundin Links has not one but two golf courses and others such as Kingsbarns, Fairmont and The Old Course are just a short drive away. The Old Manor Hotel can help guests book a round on many of the surrounding courses.
Not that you need to know what a mashie niblick is to enjoy today’s offer.
With magnificent beaches, walks along the Fife Coastal Path and the historical town of St Andrews to explore, this overnight stay at the lovely Old Manor hotel in Lundin Links means you can make the most of this picturesque part of the East Neuk.
Built as a country house back in 1872, the Old Manor combines the elegance of the Victorian era with modern comforts and luxuries.
Set in a glorious location, it enjoys panoramic views overlooking Largo Bay and the Firth of Forth. Free WiFi is available in all of the public areas and many of the bedrooms.
Available Sunday to Friday, today’s Big Deal is for an overnight Bed and Breakfast stay in an ensuite standard twin or double.
Additionally, there is the option to purchase a two or three course dinner in the Seaview restaurant, priced at £24.95 or £29.95 per person.
Living up to its name with breathtaking views of Largo Bay and the Firth of Forth, The Seaview restaurant offers a real feast for the eyes as well as the appetite.
The addition of an evening meal is available. Specific dishes will change according to what is in season but typical starters might be the warm duck salad or the tiger prawns in a Marie Rose sauce.
Popular main courses include the mushroom risotto; the haggis-stuffed chicken breast and the pork fillet served with roast new potatoes, summer vegetables and a red wine jus.
Desserts such as the treacle tart with clotted cream; sticky toffee pudding and the summery lemon tart with raspberry coulis won’t be easy to decide between.
The Old Manor has been wowing guests for quite some time. This is what one happy visitor had to say recently on TripAdvisor:
‘Sssssh. Hidden gem. Stayed here for the second time this year on a B&B voucher deal. Amazing value for money. Seaview room on ground floor was a real treat. Spacious, modern and airy with a balcony out over the garden. Fully functional for everything you need to relax whilst on a break. Listening to the birds in the morning was worth the trip. Peace. Helped by being warm and sunny of course!’
‘Great lounge area and restaurant for sitting and looking out to sea. Breakfast excellent. Fresh, hot and tasty. Easy to walk to the Railway Inn and Crusoe Hotel in Lower Largo. 20min away. Highly recommended. St Andrews, Elie, Crail and Anstruther are all gems within easy drive. The Scottish Deer Centre at Cupar is also excellent. Finally, the staff are cheery, professional and helpful. Brilliant. See you again!’
