Sure, we’re as fond of raindrops on kittens and er, whiskers on mittens as the next man.
But when it comes down to it, we would rather have a big, juicy steak.
Like the chunky Chateaubriands they serve at Chez Mal Brasserie in Glasgow’s Malmaison.
The Mal building was originally a Greek Orthodox church and the atmospheric restaurant sits in what used to be the crypt.
With a glittering domed ceiling; vibrant murals of Glasgow’s industrial heritage and relaxed brasserie-style service, Chez Mal is a cosmopolitan, city centre venue.
Chateaubriand to share
Available seven days, the offer is for two people to share a Chateaubriand steak, onion rings, chunky fries, béarnaise sauce and house salad.
The offer also includes a bottle of Prosecco or house wine to share.
A superb cut of steak, the 500 gm Chateaubriand is aged for 21 days to intensify its flavour before being pan-fried and roasted to your specification.
Guests are welcome to order additional courses and side dishes. A 10% service charge will be added for extras.
Chez Mal brasserie is quite at home after launching earlier this year. It is already attracting rave reviews on TripAdvisor:
‘Fantastic meal and service. Enjoyed a fantastic Chateaubriand here at the weekend! Came to Chez Mal last Saturday with a group of friends… The food and service was great! Can’t recommend it highly enough.’
This is what a customer had to say on Chez Mal’s 5pm dining page:
‘Excellent all round. Excellent food and service in stylish, comfortable surroundings. I liked the booth seating area… The staff are amazing.’
The Hydro concert venue is a short taxi ride away while the King’s Theatre is a five minute walk for guests who would like a pre-theatre meal.
You could even buy a handful and treat your friends. Chez Mal will happily seat groups of up to eight.
