Idyllic Loch Lomond location

Great for walkers

Ever wondered what the perfect country inn would look like?

Wonder no more ‘cos we’ve found it.

Today’s Big Deal is with the Oak Tree Inn, part of the picturesque village of Balmaha on the quieter, eastern shore of Loch Lomond.

Easily accessible from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling, it is the ideal location for a romantic getaway break.

Award-winning inn

A former winner of the SLTN Pub of the Year award, the Oak Tree Inn is offering one or two night bed and breakfast stays.

A popular choice for West Highland Way walkers, it is easy to see why the family-owned Oak Tree Inn won the SLTN award.

Sitting in the shade of a 500-year-old oak tree, the inn is made from locally quarried slate and has a beautiful bar made from an old elm tree.

The bar serves great food; has a brilliant collection of whiskies and a roaring log fire. Tempted?

With vouchers valid until the end of March, this offer would make a great Christmas present.

Relaxing break

Available seven days a week, option one is for two people to have an overnight bed and breakfast stay in a twin/double or superior room at the inn or in one of the inn’s four, nearby cottages.

Also available seven days a week, option two is for two people to stay two consecutive nights.

Depending on availability, room upgrades may be available. There is a £10 supplement for all Friday and Saturday night stays.

Gastropub food

All the rooms are ensuite, individually decorated and equipped with hot drinks trays and flat screen TVs.

Serving Scottish gastropub dishes, the bar is at the heart of the inn. Featuring a log fire, over 50 malt whiskies and a great range of local ales, the stunning bar is made from a 300-year-old elm tree.

See & Do

The Oak Tree Inn is popular with West Highland Way walkers – muddy boots are welcome. There are lots of other attractions in the area.

From cruising on the loch to Glengoyne Distillery visits via the numerous golf courses in the area, there is plenty to see and do in and around Balmaha.

Happy guests

The Oak Tree Inn has attracted lots of positive reviews on TripAdvisor:

‘Fantastic. Stayed here for only one night. The room was lovely, bed comfortable and food good quality. The staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. We were even upgraded. The Inn itself is full of character and has many unusual artefacts Will definitely return.’

Christmas gift

If you would like to whisk away someone special then this Big Deal is the perfect Christmas gift. Just place the voucher in their Christmas card and watch your loved one’s face light up.
