After the excesses of the holiday season and that relentless festive fare, there’s little better than escaping for a relaxed Italian meal, especially when there are experts at work in the kitchen.
Glasgow’s Alla Italia fits that description, offering superb, fresh Italian dishes, prepared with the flair of Andrea Pirlo and the brio of Pavarotti.
This Big Deal offers a delicious Italian meal for two at Alla Italia, with a bottle of champagne included, to help you get used to the idea that 2016 has arrived.
Classic Italian dining
With a city centre location handy for the King’s and Theatre Royal, Alla Italia has become a favourite pre-show rendezvous for Glasgow’s culturati.
The key to its appeal is that Alla Italia serves up authentic Italian cuisine that combines familiar classics with some inventive creations, all freshly-prepared using local ingredients.
This Big Deal is for two people to have a 2 course meal with a bottle of Veuve Monsigny Champagne to share.
Lunch or evening booking times are available to suit your requirements. The offer is available 12-1.30pm and 7-8.30pm Monday-Thursday, 12-1.30pm Friday, 12-3.30pm Saturday and 5-8pm Sunday.
In addition it is possible to use the offer on Friday and Saturday nights 5-10pm, subject to availability.
Alla Italia’s chefs have a passion for Italian cuisine, preparing their dishes every morning from the finest local and Italian produce.
Starters include arancini with mozzarella and wild mushroom with an arrabbiata dip, and bruschetta with Parma ham, cherry tomatoes and basil.
Main courses include traditional favourites like spaghetti with polpette – beef meatballs in a rich sugo, and pizza with roasted Mediterranean vegetable.
The irresistible dessert menu includes vanilla panna cotta and blueberry crème brulée.
Some menu items, such as the mixed antipasto, swordfish and Scottish fillet steak carry a small supplement.
Alla Italia has received a warm grazie mille from satisfied 5pm customers, adding up to a rating of 4/5. Recent reviews include the following:
‘Absolutely lovely, relaxing restaurant with delicious food and fab staff. Look forward to our next visit.’
‘Service very attentive and friendly. Food was of a really high standard, arrived promptly and was piping hot.’
Those Christmassy colours of red, white and green also happen to make up the Italian flag, so why not treat a loved one to the happy prospect of a 2016 escape, some excellent Italian cuisine and a glass or two of champagne?
We’ve looked closely and it seems that Alla Italia’s menus are a brussels sprout and turkey free zone.
