A warm and intimate space which echoes the original character of Hutchesons, the private dining room has luscious, dark panelled walls which are hung with atmospheric pictures of the Glenfarclas distillery.

Through an exclusive partnership with George Grant of Glenfarclas whisky, Hutchesons is the only UK venue to house of all the spectacular Glenfarclas family casks under one roof.

Scottish produce

Available from noon to 9.30pm, Monday to Thursday, and from noon to 2pm, Friday to Sunday, the offer is for eight people to have three courses from the menu shown below.

The offer includes four bottles of house wine and four bottles of mineral water to share plus tea or coffee and petit fours to finish.

The Hutcheson kitchens are proud to use the finest Scottish produce and this private dining room menu underlines this commitment.

In particular, Hutchesons take enormous care with their steaks.

John Gilmour Butchers supply their beef from herds in the Borders.

They use grass-fed Black Angus and Limousin cattle. The beef is dry-aged on the bone for 21 to 35 days.

The Glenfarclas private dining and meeting room seats up to eighteen. Additional guests may be added at £40 per head (does not include wine) payable in advance at time of booking.

Appetizers

Treacle fennel & coriander cured salmon, celeriac remoulade, croutons, lemon

Confit black Angus ox cheek, Jerusalem artichoke puree, truffled heritage carrots, roasted bone marrow jus

Hutchesons’ salad, endive, goat’s cheese, pear, candied walnuts, rock salt, lemon and olive oil (V)

Main courses

Pan-fried fillet of seabass, fondant potato, squid ink bisque, hazelnut piccada

Fillet – 30 day dry-aged Borders fillet (230g), French fries and garlic butter (£9 supplement)

Pea and mint risotto, garden peas, mint leaves, aged Italian hard cheese, single estate olive oil (V) 

Pan-seared chicken supreme, celeriac puree, crushed new potatoes, seasonal greens, red wine jus

Desserts

Chocolate pavé, frozen peanut butter parfait, salted caramel popcorn

Crème brûlée with a gingernut biscuit

Warm sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream
