Bette Davis is said to have remarked that ‘There comes a time in every woman’s life when the only thing that helps is a glass of Champagne.’
That time is now, ladies. And indeed, gents.
Have the time of your life by treating yourself and a friend to a delectable afternoon tea with Champagne at the five star Radisson Blu.
Champagne afternoon tea
This rather chic Big Deal is for two people to enjoy Champagne afternoon tea in the Atrium Bar at the Radisson Blu on Argyle Street.
Sleek, light-filled and quietly sophisticated, the Atrium Bar has large window walls which make it perfect for people watching in the unlikely event of the chat running dry.
Superb afternoon tea
Served between 1pm and 5pm, seven days a week, afternoon tea at the Atrium Bar is something of a treat.
Available on white or wholemeal bread, the selection of fresh finger sandwiches will include delectable choices such as the smoked salmon and cucumber or the roast chicken and tarragon mayonnaise.
The golden scones are freshly baked and served with rich, clotted cream and a naturally sweet fruit preserve.
The hotel’s chef de patisserie will compose a glorious selection choice of pastries and cakes with just the right amount of indulgence and a little sweetness to sugar the goss.
Naturally, the Atrium Bar has a fine selection of top quality teas and coffees for you to choose from as part of the offer.
A chilled glass of Piper Heidsieck Champagne will help keep your afternoon nice and bubbly while live music on Friday and Sunday afternoons will provide gentle background accompaniment to the hiss of the fizz.
Big Deals at the stylish Radisson Blu are always very popular. This glowing review was left on the hotel’s TripAdvisor entry just over a week ago. We have shortened it:
‘Myself and three friends had afternoon tea… on Saturday 5th April and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a glass of Champagne to start with, which was part of the deal and it was most enjoyable. Sandwiches were fresh, scones were straight from the oven, cakes and pastries were very tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and what we could not manage to eat the staff kindly gave us a box to take home what was left. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thought it was good value for money. Would certainly make a return visit and would recommend to others.’
A day out with family; a catch-up with a chum or an indulgent break in a shopping trip – today’s Big Deal would happily fit into most occasions.
