There is afternoon tea and then there is the afternoon tea in the rooftop restaurant at 200 St Vincent Street.
A new addition to Glasgow city centre, the sixth floor restaurant at 200 St Vincent Street is a chic and comfortable space with skyline views of Glasgow.
The imposing, Grade A-listed building dates back to the 1920s but, after a multi-million pound restoration, its interior is as contemporary as it is luxurious.
With marble and wood floors, designer lighting and stylish, minimalist seats, it is a sophisticated spot for a business lunch; romantic dinner or sumptuous afternoon tea.
Today’s Big Deal is the perfect introduction to this rather dashing newcomer on Glasgow’s dining scene.
Luxury afternoon tea
Available on selected days throughout December, the offer is for two people to each enjoy a glass of Champagne and the 200 St Vincent Street afternoon tea.
The treat starts with gourmet sandwiches such as Scottish smoked salmon, roast beef and horseradish or Somerset brie and pear chutney.
After warm, freshly made scones with clotted cream and jam, guests can nibble on a selection of beautiful cakes made by the pastry chef.
Coffee, hot chocolate or a great selection of leaf tea are included. From Earl Grey to China Oolong via Assam, the restaurant has a great selection.
On each of the valid days, there are two sittings for afternoon tea: 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Today’s Big Deal with 200 St Vincent Street is a brilliant introduction to this cosmopolitan new venue.
Enjoy it with a friend or buy it as a gift for someone who would enjoy a swish afternoon tea with Champagne and stunning rooftop views of Glasgow.
It would also make a rather elegant break in a Christmas shopping trip.
