Now, what would it take for you to forsake the nachos and Netflix on a Friday night?
We’re guessing that you would demand to be ushered into a sweeping, luxury-mansion type space before being greeted with a glass of ice-cold fizz.
Next, you’d expect to be led to a candlelit table to enjoy a three course meal, plus a shimmering magic and burlesque show. This, and only this, could persuade you to put on your coat and leave the house on a Friday.
Your wish is our command.
Today’s Big Deal offers all of this at a spectacular night of burlesque at Merchant City venue Arta on Friday 3rd November.
Shake a tail feather
Billed as a Best of Bon Appetease show, your evening will be hosted by mystery man Chris Dinwoodie. Five times Scottish Magic Champion, Woodie has spent the last fourteen years travelling the world and performing his magic.
When not being wowed by Woodie, the audience will be teased, titillated and transfixed by a dazzling array of burlesque beauties.
This is the last Bon Appetease show of 2017 and they have pulled out all the stops. This line-up features the very best performers and a very special newbie that the organisers have been trying to book for the last six months.
Eyes peeled for:
Miss Hell’s Belle – Director & performer at The Gatsby Club, Scotland’s largest 1920s night, Miss Hell’s Belle is a heady mixture of sweetness and sensuality with a very wicked side.
Agatha Frisky – Born and raised in Australia then forged in the fires of North America, Agatha Frisky is an international burlesque performer. Winner of Miss Burlesque Western Australia 2013, Frisky has featured in many prestigious productions such as The New Orleans Burlesque Festival; the Australian Burlesque Festival and – who could forget? – The Gilded Merkin.
Brandy Montmartre – This multiple award-winning international burlesque performer recently won Burlesque Idol Scotland 2016. Performing both classic and neo-burlesque, Brandy will set your heart ablaze and has caused many an audience member to gasp in amazement and then order a double.
Dinner and show for two
Option one is for one person to have a glass of fizz on arrival followed by a three course meal and the show on Friday 3rd November.
There are three options for each dinner course. We would go for the chicken liver parfait wrapped in serrano ham with smoked tomato jam to start, followed by the paprika-dusted, pan-fried hake, served with patatas bravas in a sweet pimento sauce. Then crème Catalan served with nutmeg shortbread to finish, obviously.
Although we could see why you might choose the smoked salmon, caper and lemon salad, followed by the spaghetti with basil pesto and toasted pine nuts, served with cherry tomatoes and topped with truffle potato crisps.
Naturally, you’d have to round it off with the Spanish and Scottish cheese board served with apple chutney and fresh grapes.
Night out with friends
Option two is for a drink and show package for eight people – ideal for a Friday night with friends. As well as a Cava reception on arrival and tickets for the show on Friday 3rd November, this package includes:
One bottle of spirits – choose between Ketel One Vodka, Tanqueray Gin, Jack Daniels and Havana 7 with unlimited mixers
Two bottles of Cava
1 x Crystal Skull Daiquiri
Nibbles – selection of olives, bread, oil & vinegar, nuts and popcorn
