We’re not too sure what your resolutions are, but if they’re anything like ours, we are determined to eat better in 2019 than we did in 2018.
And we are going to start with today’s Big Deal with Urban Bar and Brasserie on St Vincent Place, right in the heart of Glasgow.
Today’s Big Deal for a three course meal for two at Urban Bar & Brasserie, valid from 7th January until the end of February 2019.
Meal for two
This Big Deal offers the chance to enjoy a three course meal from Urban’s new 2019 menu featuring many of Urban’s favourites.
The menu may be subject to change, but will look very much like the following:

Smooth chicken liver parfait with bacon, balsamic onion jam, oatcakes
Plate of smoked salmon with tiger prawns, lime crème fraîche, dressed leaves
Baked goats’ cheese with flatcap mushroom, red pepper pesto, red chard
Bayonne ham with trio of melon, basil & marinated olives

Pan fried mackerel with beetroot & chilli couscous, rocket, sun blush tomato, crème fraîche
Roast butternut risotto with asparagus, toasted walnut, Roquefort
Charred chicken with creamy smoked ham, dauphinoise potatoes & pea puree
Flat iron steak (8oz) with skinny fries & pepper sauce
Orange & mascarpone crème brûlée with rosemary shortbread
Pear, apple & berry tart with vanilla custard & ice cream
Cantal cheese with chutney, grapes, & oatcakes
Ice cream of the day with warm chocolate sauce
This Big Deal is available Sunday 12.30pm to 9pm, Monday to Thursday from noon to 9pm, and Friday from noon to 5pm.
Beautiful brasserie dining
Urban Bar & Brasserie is situated on St. Vincent Place, and is actually the former home of the Bank of England’s Scottish headquarters, making it an impressive spot for a meal. Inside, you will find an Art Deco dining room that blends old school elegance with a contemporary edge.
Wherever possible, Chef Colin Duffy uses locally sourced and seasonal ingredients to create eclectic food with a strong French ethos. Menus are complemented by a well thought out wine list.
Urban Bar & Brasserie has enjoyed recent enthusiastic reviews from 5pm customers, including these ones, which we’ve edited for length:
‘Excellent meal. We have visited urban once before and have to say the whole experience was excellent. The food and service was first class. We can’t wait to go back.’
‘Definitely one of my favourites. A pleasure to be back here… so much so am back for an ‘action replay’ next week … absolutely nothing negative to say about Urban Brasserie… love it. Menus changed from last visit few months ago but everything on offer looked delicious…’
‘Lovely food in a beautiful setting. Busy but without too much noise and no one sitting too close to us. Service great. We had a really lovely evening.’
Celebrate the new year
What better way to celebrate the arrival of 2019 than with a three course meal for two at a chic art deco brasserie?
Available until the end of February, this Big Deal from Urban Bar & Brasserie will give you the chance to try out their menu.
It would also make a brownie points grabbing gift.
