Atmospheric restaurant

The building was originally a Greek Orthodox church and the atmospheric restaurant sits in what used to be the crypt.

With a glittering domed ceiling; vibrant murals of Glasgow’s industrial heritage and relaxed brasserie-style service, Chez Mal is a cosmopolitan, city centre venue.

Adjacent to the brasserie, Mal Bar is a cool hangout which is decorated with Pop Art. Craft beer, cocktails and a carefully chosen wine list all add to the bar’s charms.

Available seven days a week, option one is for two people to each have the two course festive menu below.

Ballotine of free range turkey, prosciutto, pork, apricot & sage stuffing, bread sauce & cranberry compote

Daube of beef, smoked pomme purée, glazed shallot & button mushrooms

Pan-fried cod, chickpea, courgette & fregola pasta stew

Spinach, ricotta & chestnut ravioli, roast tomato & red pepper sauce

All served with your favourite festive trimmings

Desserts

Steamed Christmas pudding, brandy custard

Mulled wine poached pear trifle, custard, vanilla cream & petites meringues

Dark chocolate & cherry roulade, crème fraîche

Local artisan cheese selection, crackers, chutney & quince jelly

Chateaubriand to share

Also available seven days, option two is for two people to share a Chateaubriand steak, onion rings, chunky fries, béarnaise sauce and house salad.

The offer also includes a bottle of Prosecco or house wine to share.

A superb cut of steak, the 500 gm Chateaubriand is aged for 21 days to intensify its flavour before being pan-fried and roasted to your specification.

Guests are welcome to order additional courses and side dishes. A 10% service charge will be added for extras.
