Today’s Big Deal is with the rather cosmopolitan Urban Bar and Brasserie on St Vincent Place in Glasgow city centre.
We could tell you about the awards it has had for its food. We could write about its handsome interior. Or its elegant service. Or the building’s history as the Scottish HQ of the Bank of England.
Instead, we’ll just reprint a review which a regular customer left on Urban’s 5pm entry last week:
‘Consistently 5/5. As a regular diner at Urban Bar and Brasserie I’m never disappointed. A pleasure to dine there every time.’
We can’t improve on that so here is the offer.
