Ebony and ivory; kittens and string; Ant and Dec. Some things were just meant for each other.
Much like the steak and seafood on offer with today’s Big Deal at Surf ‘n’ Turf, part of the Merrylee Road brasserie in Cathcart.
Steak, seafood & wine
An elegant addition to the existing brasserie at Merrylee Road in Glasgow’s Cathcart, Surf ‘n’ Turf is an intimate candle-lit space ideal for anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a great steak or fresh Scottish seafood.
Today’s Big Deal allows you to enjoy both. The deal is for two people to each enjoy a 7 oz MacDuff rump steak, cooked the way you like it; a scallop; king prawns, fries to share and a large glass (250ml) of wine each from the restaurant’s house selection.
The restaurant uses succulent MacDuff beef, supplied by Q Guild-certified butcher Tom Rodgers.
All MacDuff cattle are born and bred in Scotland and finished on natural products. This natural diet ensures the full, rich flavour of beef as it used to taste before the introduction of intensive farming techniques.
The Merrylee Road restaurant is popular with 5pm users. At the time of writing, it scores a very respectable 4/5 from reviewers who have booked a table through 5pm and eaten there.
This is what a couple of diners had to say recently:

‘Wonderful hidden gem in the Southside. The food is divine and the atmosphere wonderful. You will not be disappointed.’ Rating 5/5
