What do a pelican and a tax man have in common? Big bills!
Boom and boom again!
Actually, small bills are the distinguishing feature of today’s Big Deal with the super popular Pelican Cafe opposite the Kelvingrove Museum.
This splendid Big Deal comes in two varieties:
The surf ‘n’ turf deal is two people to each enjoy a fantastic 6 oz, 28 day, dry-aged Popeseye steak from MacDuff beef along with three beer battered prawns, a side salad and a bottle of house red or white to share.
Alternatively, the burger lunch deal is for two lucky people to tuck into 8 oz burgers made from prime MacDuff beef served with hand-cut chips, salad and a smoked paprika aioli. To accompany your burger treat, each guest can choose between a soft drink, a bottled beer or a small glass of house wine.
Dedicated to showcasing Scotland’s world-renowned larder, the Pelican Cafe has no shortage of enthusiastic fans. The List Eating and Drinking Guide gave it the Newcomer of the Year Award last year while 5pm customers have been just as keen.
At the time of writing, just under 140 diners have given the Pelican Cafe a combined rating of 4.1/5. The following comments are typical:
‘Very Nice. Very nice wine selection tasty food and very good service!’ Rating 5/5.
