What did the Victorians ever do for us? Well, they invented the railways, postage stamps and the mutton chop sideburns which recently powered Bradley Wiggins to Olympic gold.
They also provided the inspiration for the eye-catching decor at Ingram Wynd – the providers of today’s fantastic Big Deal on a two course dinner for two with wine.
Available 7 days per week, 12pm-8pm, this top notch offer is for two people to each enjoy a starter and main course from Ingram Wynd’s rather tasty Big Deal menu.
Also included is a bottle of house wine to share. Guests can choose between red, white or, if you’re feeling summery, a bottle of rosé.
There are five starters and five main courses to choose from so it won’t be hard to find a dish that titillates your taste buds.
Starters on the Big Deal menu include West Coast mussels in a tomato, chilli and coriander sauce; chicken liver pate served with oatcakes and tangy onion marmalade plus, that old fave, the grilled haggis, black pudding and tattie scone with whisky cream.
The 6oz rib-eye steak served with slow roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, peppercorn sauce and hand cut chips is likely to be popular from the main courses but don’t overlook choices such as the honey and mustard marinated pork loin or the fillet of Scottish salmon which comes with creamed Savoy cabbage, coriander pesto, asparagus spears, cherry wine tomatoes and potatoes.
Set in Glasgow’s buzzy Merchant City, Ingram Wynd is an elegant restaurant and bar that blends fascinating Victorian memorabilia with friendly service and delicious, contemporary cuisine.
Covered in etchings, pictures, paintings and maps dating from the 19th century, the decor at Ingram Wynd is a treasure trove of local history.
It’s also a winner with 5pm users. Each time we have done a deal with Ingram Wynd, it has sold like hot cross buns. The restaurant’s popularity is reflected in its 5pm reviews. At the time of writing, over 500 diners have given Ingram Wynd a fantastic combined score of 4.3/5.
