As far as the ancient Mayans were concerned, chocolate was the food of the gods.
We’re not going to argue.
Have a spiritual experience with today’s Big Deal on a handmade chocolate master class at The Cookery School on Glassford Street in Glasgow city centre.
Due to strong demand, The Cookery School has introduced a special three-hour evening class which reveals the sweet secrets of the chocolatier’s art.
Take up today’s offer and you will work with top-quality dark, milk and white chocolate to make and decorate a selection of beautiful chocolates.
As well as learning a simple tempering method, choc-loving students will also be shown a variety of different decoration techniques.
At the end of the class, choc scholars will have two dozen chocolates to take home and show off to their friends and family/eat on the way home.
The classes are held on selected Tuesday nights and run from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
The classes are suitable for people on a gluten-free diet but not those on a dairy-free regime.
All skill levels
Don’t worry if scoffing an entire Toblerone is the closest you have come so far to making your own chocolates. The classes are suitable for all skill levels. As the School points out ‘Cooking is simple. It only looks difficult on television.’
Great gift idea
This would be a fun gift for a chum and it would also make for an interesting, alternative trip out with friends or family.
It would also be a fun idea for a hen night.
