We would suggest that Café Source has a strong claim on a number of levels.

Sitting in the basement of St Andrews in the Square, Café Source is a good looking, casual brasserie with a warm and welcoming ambience.

St Andrews is the second oldest church in the city and, for many people, its most beautiful.

It was a church for almost 250 years before it closed in 1990 and, weddings aside, there have been no services in the building for a long time.

However, lots of people still sing the praises of the dishes served in Café Source.

Oven-roast breast of chicken, smoked bacon & pearl barley risotto, chicken jus

Roasted vegetable & basil risotto topped with goat’s cheese & oven-roast cherry tomatoes (v)

Eight-hour, slow braised daube of beef with rumbledethumps, roast vegetables, beef jus

Cafe Source beef burger topped with cheddar cheese, served in a brioche bun with fries

Ramsay’s of Carluke belly of pork, dauphinoise potatoes, Ramsay’s Haggis and gravy

Beer-battered fish and chips served in a basket with French fries, mushy peas and tartare sauce

Guests are welcome to order selected starter or desserts for an additional £3 per dish, payable direct to restaurant.

This offer is available noon to 2.30pm and 5pm to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday, noon to 2pm on Saturdays and 12.30pm to 7.30pm on Sundays.
