Much loved fairytale
Tchaikovsky’s immensely popular ballet tells the story of Clara, a young girl who creeps downstairs to check that her Christmas presents are safe and sound under the tree.
But as the clock strikes midnight, something is stirring under the branches…
This magical fairytale has enchanted audiences since it premiered in St Petersburg in the 19th century. Over a hundred years later, it still has the power to cast a spell over young and old as Clara and her Prince sail to the Land of Sweets.
Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake will be performed by the world-renowned Moscow Ballet – La Classique.
Founded in 1990 by its current director Elik Melikov, the Moscow Ballet of Classical Choreography, or ‘La Classique’, is made up of stunning ballet dancers from the leading theatres of the CIS countries and the Bolshoi, Kirov and Ballet Theatres of Kiev, Odessa, Tbilisi and Perm.
Get in the mood
This performance of the popular ballet will be a great way to get into the Christmas mood. Imaginative, beautiful and packed with festive spirit, it’s Russia’s defiant answer to any Scrooge-like humbug.
