Central base
The centrally-located Comfort Borsparken is just metres from the central station and three blocks from Karl Johansgate, the main shopping street that leads up to the Royal Palace.
En suite double rooms are decorated in simple Scandinavian style, with satellite TV. The hotel has a gym and business centre, and rooms have connections for laptops. The hotel is non-smoking throughout.
The bright, modern ground floor restaurant has a patterned glass roof, a relaxed location for the substantial breakfast that is included in the offer.
Oslo attractions
Oslo is a capital city with a compact centre. The avenue of Karl Johansgate is the main hub of activity with shops, bars and night clubs. Norwegians love their jazz and there are atmospheric venues around Tinghuset and Stortorvet.
Heritage sights are focused on Kvadraturen, the grid-pattern streets of the old town with pretty 17th-century buildings, some now housing galleries and museums.
