As we all know, ‘Tempus neminem manet’ means time waits for no-one in Latin.
Or, to put it another way, ‘He who snoozes, loses.’
The same could be said of today’s Big Deal with Tempus restaurant – it’s so tasty that you’ll need to get a wiggle on to bag one.
Choice of 3 main courses
The deal is for two people to each enjoy a main course and glass of Prosecco in the rather swish surrounds of Tempus, the restaurant in the recently refurbished Grand Central Hotel.
Diners can choose between three delicious dishes:
Gressingham duck breast served with creamy dauphinoise potatoes and buttered vegetables.
A ballotine of chicken layered with sun blushed tomatoes, basil and roasted peppers served with crisp vegetables and potatoes.
Grilled fillet of white fish, lemon herb butter, dauphinoise potatoes and fines beans.
Hotel with history
Re-opened in 2010, the Grand Central is one of Glasgow’s landmark hotels and it has a colourful history.
Everyone from Churchill to Frank Sinatra has stayed there over the years.
The Tempus Restaurant looks the part for such a historical hotel. Murals of steam trains and Glasgow’s industrial heritage link it with the next door train station while the stripped floors and vibrant purple banquettes give it a contemporary edge.
Popular with 5pm users
Since re-opening, Tempus has been a hit with many 5pm customers and, at the time of writing, just under a hundred of you have given it a combined rating of 4.2/5. This is what a recent visitor had to say:
‘The best. Great food and great value for money, first class service.’ 4.6/5
