When Glasgow’s four star Grand Central Hotel was refurbished a few years ago, two original, Italian, Murano glass chandeliers were installed in Tempus restaurant.
The idea was that the chandeliers would add to the sense of light created by the large arched windows. It works.

The Market Menu changes regularly but typical starters might include the tian of smoked and poached Scottish salmon with a crisp rocket, avocado and caviar dressing or the terrine of smoked ham hock and chicken terrine.
Main courses might include dishes like the pork cutlets with horseradish mash, baby carrots, lardons and tarragon jus or the seared fillet of sea bream, served on a squid ink risotto with chorizo and mussel sauce.
Popular desserts include the dark chocolate truffle torte with chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries and the caramelised bananas with crisp pastry, Chantilly cream, rum and raisin ice cream.

While most of the Market Menu dishes change depending on what is in season, diners will almost always find steak frites available on the menu.
