Advice for keeping warm in winter ranges from ‘put on an extra jumper’ to ‘invest in a hot water bottle’.
All very sensible but all scoring a big, fat zero on the fun factor.
Instead, we recommend you put some fire in your belly with today’s Big Deal on a spicy meal for two at Mr Singh’s India.
Face it. Which would you rather do: give the ironic Christmas jumper another outing or tuck into a chicken chasni?
Long established Indian
Since opening over fifteen years ago, three generations of the Singh family have served Glasgow’s curry lovers with menus that blend Indian culinary tradition with the occasional Scottish twist.
The Elderslie Street restaurant has recently had a face-lift and is looking more handsome than ever. In fact, it’s nearly a match for the staff who cut quite a dash in their kilts and turbans.
Taste of India
Available Tuesday to Sunday, today’s Big Deal comes in two spicy formats.
Option one is for two people to enjoy the brilliant Taste of India menu. Ideal for curry fans that want variety, it’s a great way to taste several authentic Indian dishes.
The Taste of India menu has nine different starters and ten different curries. Each couple can choose any four starters and three main courses to share.
Option 2 is for each couple to share a platter of mixed starters plus a main course each from the Taste of India menu along with two portions of pilau rice.
The Taste of India menu is packed with great dishes. The selection of starters includes haggis pakora, chicken wings, bhajis and tandoori drum sticks.
Tempting main courses include lamb desi on the bone; a bhoona made with haggis and lamb ambala – the Singh family signature dish made to a secret recipe.
At the time of writing, over a hundred people who have booked and eaten at Mr Singh’s through 5pm have given the restaurant a very respectable combined score of 4.1/5. This recent review is typical of what customers have to say:

‘Lovely Place. Staff couldn’t have been any friendlier, the food was delicious. Would definitely go back.’ Rating 5/5
