The Spanish have come up with many great ideas which have improved every day life beyond measure. Where would be without submarines, lollipops and, of course, who could forget the laryngoscope?
However, their truly earth-shattering invention was tapas. From Tobermory to Tierra Del Fuego, tapas have conquered the globe with their taste bud tempting qualities.
Give thanks to Spanish ingenuity with today’s Big Deal at Cafe Andaluz in Glasgow’s West End.
The first of Glasgow’s two Cafe Andaluz tapas restaurants, the Cresswell Lane branch has long been a favourite eating out destination in the West End.
Decked out with stained glass lamps, carved wooden furniture and alcoves filled with colourful ceramics, it looks like the interior of a stylish, white-washed hacienda in Andalucia.
With just under thirty different tapas available on the Cafe Andaluz Big Deal menu, diners will be able to have a fiesta of feasting.
The menu includes popular choices such as:
Hot roast peeled prawns with olive oil, fresh chillies and garlic
Pan-fried sliced chicken breast marinated in paprika, lemon and coriander, served with a chilli yoghurt
Freshly marinated anchovies
Sliced mushrooms, garlic and smoked Tetilla cheese on crisp croutons
Chorizo and black pudding sautéed in spicy tomato
Cafe Andaluz is a big hit with 5pm users. It rates a rocking 4.4/5 and has prompted reviews such as:
