What we are proposing is a refreshing tour of a brewery and sampling some fine ales to get you in the mood to create. We’re not even asking for a cut of the profits from any future Sotheby’s auction of the resulting masterpieces.

Today’s Big Deal takes you to Glasgow’s Tennent’s Training Academy, birthplace of great beer, for a brewery tour and the opportunity to give free rein to your artistic impulses while tasting three of the brewery’s best beers.

Pints and paints

This novel combination of ale appreciation and art is available on two dates. Option one is for Thursday 16th March and option 2 for Friday 14th April.

The Big Deal is for one person to enjoy a tour of the Tennent’s Brewery, three different types of Tennent’s beer, a canvas (which is yours to keep) and use of paints, paintbrushes and a table easel with instruction.

The evening progresses as follows:

Arrive at 6.30pm for a one hour tour of the Tennent’s Brewery. Then, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, guests can enjoy pints and painting.

A professional artist will give you step-by-step guidance as you create your artwork.

The painting sessions are punctuated by three breaks for tasting three of Tennent’s statement beers.

Extra drinks will be available for purchase.

No artistic expertise is required. At the end of the evening, you can take your canvas home for private enjoyment, or maybe as a key work in your forthcoming touring exhibition of pieces inspired by Scottish beers.
