In some cultures, the peacock represents everlasting life.
Now, while we would love to do a Big Deal on immortality, that’s probably a bit beyond us.
At least for the moment.
Happily, we can provide a Big Deal on pizza, pasta or risotto for two at Il Pavone – which just happens to be the Italian for peacock.
If you love Italian food then this Big Deal with Il Pavone will have you shaking your tail feathers with glee.
Located on the ground floor of Princes Square on Buchanan Street, Il Pavone is a stylish, family-run, Italian restaurant.
It has been running since the 1980s which, in restaurant terms, is practically immortal.
Cooked to order
Available Sunday to Thursday, today’s Big Deal is for two people to each have any pizza, pasta or risotto from the a la carte plus a chilled glass of Prosecco.
With more than twenty pasta dishes, seventeen pizza and six varieties of risotto to choose from, all cooked to order, you will have no trouble finding a favourite.
We recommend the restaurant’s signature dishes. The penne vodka is a classic Il Pavone dish made with tomato sauce, cream, onions, ham and vodka.
You don’t taste the vodka. However, using it in the cooking process heightens the flavour of the tomatoes and other ingredients.
Or you could try the calzone, another of their signature dishes.
A delicious folded pizza filled with tomato, mozzarella, ham, pepperoni and chicken, this is a great meal for those who demand more than just a pizza.
Risotto fans could try the porcini version or add some Spanish flavours and order the Spagnol with saffron, chorizo, chicken and peas.
Seafood dishes can be ordered for supplement of £3.
Having been in business for decades, Il Pavone knows what their customers like and has the reviews to prove it. These were taken from the restaurant’s 5pm entry:
‘Lovely food and friendly staff. Lovely pasta dishes, excellent staff and great value.’ Rating 5/5
‘First class, as always.’ 5/5
Il Pavone is very conveniently located in the city centre.
This means that you could use this offer before catching a show.
You could use it to round off a hard day’s shopping or as part of a night out with friends and family.
