But sadly, there is a strict Embargo on that information.

However, we can certainly hint to you that it is somewhere on Byres Road…

New West End restaurant

Recently opened on Byres Road, Embargo promises the vibrant flavours of Australasia and East Asia. You can sample creative cuisine that is both healthy and indulgent, surrounded by big plants, leafy murals and bar maestro’s shaking up herby cocktails.

Option one is for a ramen dish or burger each for two people. With option two, you can add on a cocktail or glass of wine each.

This offer is available Sunday to Friday from noon to 10pm until late March.

Pacific-style nosh and botanical cocktails

Menus can change, but ramen noodle choices at Embargo could feature sirloin steak, suckling pig pork belly or fermented oyster mushrooms.

Of you fancy a burger, options could include The Aussie, a 6oz beef patty with cheese, BBQ sauce & tempura onion ring, The Katsu with crispy fried chicken and katsu curry, and The Gardener with tofu, spinach & chilli. All are served with fries.

The cocktail list features many fine botanical ingredients. If you pick option two, your choices could include Mango & Coriander Smash, Espresso Martini, Thai Me Down, Apothecary, Parma Aviation and Classic Mojito.

‘Food was fantastic!! Visited here on Saturday night with a friend! We had 3 small plates and the steak ramen to share, the food was quick and super tasty!! Every dish was full of flavour… my favourite being the steak ramen!! Finished the night with cocktails, the staff even made us some that were not on the menu!! Service was great, staff were friendly and efficient. Great night all in… would recommend a visit.’

The food was outstanding with something for everyone, the small plates are a must try!!!! The drinks menu was great with a few things on it I hadn’t tried before, the bartender was excellent and wasn’t scared to go off menu to make some amazing rum old fashioneds. The staff were excellent, can’t praise them enough for looking after us, will definitely be back! If you’re looking something different in the West End, this is where to go!’
