Sleek and sophisiticated dining

• Gōst on Bothwell Street promises familiar dishes that are elevated to a fine dining standard. The restaurant is run by the same team behind popular dining spots Glaschu and The Duke’s Umbrella.

• Gōst is one of the only restaurants in Scotland offering purebred Angus beef steak from ex-dairy cattle retired onto grass pastures. The result is an incredible depth of flavour.

• Inside, the decor is sleek and sophisticated with a focus on elegant simplicity.

Two or three courses + wine

• Today’s Big Deal is for one person to have either two or three courses from the market menu, served with a glass of house wine.

• The menu is subject to seasonal change but starters could include choices such as the beef board with air cured ex-dairy beef, bread, and beef fat butter and truffle crisps, and the crispy fried whitebait with yuzu aioli and lemon.

• Mains on offer could include the double crust Gōst burger with two super-thin smashed crust patties, sesame seeded brioche, crispy bacon, bacon mayo, homemade wheat beer cheese sauce and skinny fries or you could go for the Denver steak frites, skinny fries, pepper sauce, with a choice to upgrade your steak.

• To finish, there’s a range of delicious desserts on offer, such as the chocolate pave, honeycomb and chocolate tuile and the sticky date pudding with date sponge, vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce.

• This was a quick visit prior to visiting the GFT and it was perfect! Lovely serving staff who were attentive without being intrusive. The food was of a much higher standard than I had anticipated for a fixed-price menu – kudos to the kitchen. Would definitely go back at a later time of night and enjoy all this place has to offer.
