Gourmet Scottish cuisine in the city centre

• Glaschu offers modern Scottish fine dining and a sophisticated bar area in Royal Exchange Square.

• Based in the historic building that was once the Western Club, the kitchen is run by chef Dion Scott, who honed his skills in Heston Blumenthal’s kitchens. He promises a menu rooted in Scottish history, cuisine and cooking, with added international influences.

Two or three courses

• Today’s Big Deal is for one person to have either two or three courses from the market menu.

• The menu is subject to seasonal change, but starters could include choices such as confit chicken and hazelnut terrine, pickled wild mushrooms with charred sourdough.

• Mains on offer could include the grilled fillet of Shetland plaice, crushed potatoes golden raisins, capers and samphire and chive beurre blanc or the chargrilled Scotch rump steak, French fries and peppercorn sauce.

• To finish, there will be desserts such as sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate cremeux, chocolate soil, salted caramel,
  and vanilla ice cream.
