Located on West Nile Street, the restaurant has the understated charm and elegance of a Parisian bistro while the food nods to both classic French and Mediterranean dishes.

French landmark

La Bonne Auberge is well into its forth decade in Glasgow city centre, serving French and Mediterranean style food, which suggests they have perfected the recipe and have the AA Rosette to prove it.

The restaurant was named Hotel Restaurant of the Year in the inaugural Prestige Awards last year, a hospitality industry accolade voted for by the public, with finalists hand-picked by a panel of independent judges.

The cuisine combines French bistro classics with Mediterranean and global favourites.

Two courses

Option one is for two people to have a two course lunch – starter and main course or main course and dessert – from the prix fixe menu. A glass of wine for each diner is part of the offer.

Option one is available noon to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday and 12.30pm to 3.30pm on Sundays.

Option two is for two people to have a two course dinner – starter and main course or main course and dessert – from the prix fixe menu. A glass of sparkling wine for each diner is part of the offer. It is available Sundays 5pm to 9pm and Monday to Thursday 5pm to 9.30pm.

The prix fixe menu changes regularly but this sample menu shows the sort of dishes you can look forward to:

Starters

Chef’s freshly prepared soup
Made from the finest market ingredients (v)

Smoked fish brandade
Smoked haddock and salted cod, with potato, mustard and lemon

Rich chicken liver parfait
Spiced fruit chutney and toasted brioche

Mains

Lemon and herb grilled chicken
Pearl barley, mushroom and leek risotto

Pan fried salmon fillet
Tomato gnocchi and ratatouille

Spinach and ricotta tortelloni (v)
Red peppers, tomatoes and basil

Sweetcured bacon loin
Pickled fennel and carrot slaw, apple dressing

Desserts

Crème brulée
Sugar glazed classic baked vanilla custard

Rum Baba
Rum soaked sponge, raspberries and ice cream

Fresh dairy cream profiteroles
Chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream

There will be a vegetarian option available on the day.
